The Silence Within Is the Ocean of Bliss Consciousness
Many of you have felt the silence that is deep within you.
There is a wonderful chapter in Melville’s Moby Dick called “The Grand Armada”.
The whaling ship suddenly comes upon a huge gathering of whales.
The sailors lower the smaller boats to go out in the water and harpoon as many whales as possible.
As the whalers attempt to harpoon the whales, it creates a storm of whales turning and thrashing about in the waters.
The whales are coming and going, turning about to evade the thrown harpoons, creating a great commotion and disturbance in the waters.
As Ishmael’s boat is carried along by the roiling currents , the whalers unexpectedly enter a center of calm within the commotion.
Ishmael calls the center a lake, because it is so very calm, even though surrounded by the disturbances created by the larger whales on the periphery.
This center is a place of silence.
Within this quiet, serene space, there is great visibility in the water.
Ishmael sees nursing mother whales with their babies, lying peacefully about.
The whales feel no fear of their predators, and come quite close to the boat with curiosity.
Ishmael draws an analogy.
He speaks of his own center of calm, where there is a deep silence.
And yet this center is surrounded by all the tumolt of the relative sphere of life;
By all the actions and thoughts of the mind ;
By all the happenings in the world.
And in this center of Silence, there is a calm, serene joy.
This is That Silence deep within.
This is That Ocean of Bliss Consciousness that lies deep within each of us.
Maybe you are fortunate enough to be able to experience the Silence within on a regular basis.
A sure way to be able to experience That Silence within is with a Meditation Practice that transcends the relative field, and transcends the thoughts of your mind.
When you have a technique that allows you to transcend the relative field, then you are left in the experience of your Silent Self, left by ItSelf, referring to ItSelf.
This is That Center of Bliss Consciousness deep within .
When you return to the actions and thoughts of the relative field, the experience of the peacefulness of That Silence of Self comes back with you.
It brings calm to your life here in the world.
In time, with regular and repeated transcending in your Meditation Practice,
You rise to That status of Bliss Consciousness.
That Consciousness is always yours.
It is held alongside your consciousness of the relative field.
Now That Center of Silence anchors you here in the world.
You are able to live That peacefulness no matter what you are thinking or doing , no matter what happens in the world.
You are established in your Self;
Your Self of Bliss Consciousness.
You know your Self to be completely separate from all the activity of the relative field.
You know your Self to be That Silence of the Ocean of Bliss Consciousness.
