A Yogi is one who is in union with God.
The root of the word Yogi is the Sanskrit Yoga.
Yoga is one of the forty aspects of the Veda.
The quality of Yoga is unifying.
The first union of the Yogi with God is in a Meditation Practice where one transcends the relative field:
One goes beyond this world we live in;
Beyond the infinities of universes.
Then the experience is of Wholeness;
The experience is of Divine Being, of Universal God.
That is the experience of the Transcendent:
Divine Being, Universal God That is your Self.
The first manner of being a Yogi is transcending the relative field in your Meditation Practice and gaining union with Universal God.
Being a Yogi further develops with your Meditation Practice.
At first, union with God in the Transcendent is not permanent.
The experience returns to the relative field with the consciousness of waking, dreaming or sleeping.
But the union with God in the Transcendent during your practice infuses the mind and the physiology.
It cultures them, bringing them more into tune with Natural Law to give you more support in life.
In time with repeated and regular transcending in your Meditation Practice, being a Yogi united with Universal God becomes permanent.
Now the Consciousness of the Transcendent, That Pure Consciousness of Divine Being, is held alongside the consciousness of the relative field.
Now the Yogi is in permanent union with Universal God, living God here in the world.
The state of being a Yogi continues to develop.
Devotion grows in the heart of the Yogi:
Devotion to the Personal God.
The Personal God draws the Yogi to Themself.
And the Yogi’s heart is filled with love for and devotion to the Personal God.
The Personal God might be Krishna, or Christ, or Buddha, or Maharishi, or any other fully realized human being.
The Yogi is devoted to and worships the Lord with joy.
In time, the Yogi rises to God Consciousness.
In God Consciousness, the Yogi perceives everything in Creation;
Perceives the entire relative field as the finest celestial values of life.
The Yogi’s perceptions are all waves of joy,
Joy in perceiving the Personal God as everywhere and everything;
Perceiving the Personal God as manifest in all the created world.
This is the fulfillment of Creation:
The evolution to God Consciousness of the Yogi.
Now the Yogi is in union with the Personal God.
That union is the purpose of life:
To evolve to God Consciousness as a Yogi.
