How to Meditate in an Effective Way to Cultivate Enlightenment

Maharishi teaches that one should have no expectations when meditating.

There should be no expectations of how meditation will proceed and no attempts to make anything in particular happen.

Sit quietly with your eyes closed and think your mantra.

Your mind proceeds naturally towards the Transcendent, in the direction of greater happiness.

Be indifferent to your thoughts during meditation.

Interestingly enough, at the junction point between the relative field and the Absolute, right before or after transcending, the mind fathoms the nature of Pure Consciousness, of its Self.

But the Self alone reveals ItSelf to ItSelf by ItSelf.

Experience of your Self infuses your mind and physiology, and brings a witnessing quality to your life in the relative field.

Eventually, with repeated and regular transcending, your mind and physiology are so transformed that they hold two states of Consciousness at the same time: Consciousness of your Self and Consciousness of the relative field.

You realize your Self as separate from the relative field.

This is the first stage of Enlightenment.

It is our purpose as human beings to rise to this status.
